PHS Seniors Moving to Collegiate Athletics

Plainville High School hosted an “Athletic Celebration” on June 19th for six seniors who will be going on to play collegiate athletics. The event was organized by Plainville Community Schools’ Athletic Director Chris Farrell.

PHS Dattco Internship

Dattco representatives visited Plainville High School to speak with students about their internship and apprenticeship programs this year. Currently, three Plainville High School graduates are participating in the apprenticeship program and two graduating seniors will participate in the internship program. In addition, a group of Plainville High School students recently participated in a field trip to Dattco to explore the field of diesel mechanics.

District Hosts Annual Volunteer Recognition Program

Plainville Community Schools’ annual Volunteer Recognition Dinner and Awards Program was held on May 10th, at Plainville High School. This year's theme was “Country Hoedown.” More than 100 school volunteers, Board of Education members, administrators and staff were present to enjoy an evening of food, friends, and recognition.

Gubernatorial Candidate Visits PHS

Republican primary gubernatorial candidate David Stemerman paid a visit to Plainville High School on August 9th. Stemerman, who met with Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Maureen Brummett and several Plainville Board of Education members, toured the high school’s STEM, Communications, Automotive and Construction Labs lead by Plainville High School faculty member, David Gaignard.

Financial Planner and Plainville High School alumnus, Angleo Pietri, was a guest speaker in Plainville High School faculty member Brian Edge's Persona Finance and Financial Literacy classes on May 21st. Angelo's interactive discussion stressed key concepts that allow young adults to become financially independent.
