As part of the day’s events, the students identified tree species and measured tree circumferences to collect data to analyze tree species diversity due to water availability at different elevations. The students will also create research posters similar to those often created by college level undergraduate and graduate  students.  The project is also  supported by Plainville High School faculty member David Gaignard, who the students will work with in the high school’s Communications Lab to create and print the research posters.
