The Plainville High School Interact Club sponsored the annual “Take-a-Whack for Interact” event at Plainville High School during the Thanksgiving Day football game. New England Auto sales once again donated a "safety prepped" used car. This year sledgehammers of various sizes were available for students and adults to “take a whack” for a nominal fee. The Club members spray painted the vehicle with words such as hatred, bigotry, violence, social injustice, homelessness, and disease - things that the group want to "beat." This year the Interact Club is trying to raise enough money to purchase a ShelterBox to help victims of natural disasters such as hurricanes and earthquakes.
