What is Project Graduation?

Plainville High School/YMCA Project Graduation 2019 is an all-night drug and alcohol-free celebration held at the Wheeler YMCA for PHS Seniors on graduation night.  It is the last event that your child will spend together with all of the graduating peers before they head off to post graduate endeavors. 

Planning this exciting event takes lots of volunteers (adults and students) to make this night a success.  It’s a fun-filled night for the seniors that is full of fun activities and entertainment, including casino room, caricaturist, hypnotist, game show mania, inflatables and much much more.  We raffle over $5,000 in prizes throughout the night and award $1,000 grand prize to one lucky senior, chosen at the end of the night.  Our Project Grad committee organizes events and fundraisers all year long to fund this great event which costs approximately $20,000.

We ask for you, and your student, to consider donating your time in support of this graduation party.  You can give as little or as much time as you can.  You can attend our monthly meetings, organize and participate in our fundraisers and events, join the food and/or decorating committees, volunteer the night of the party, and much more.  Any time that you can give would be greatly appreciated.  There’s something for everyone, so please consider joining us to help make this year’s event exciting and safe for our graduates.  It is especially important for senior parents to take part in Project Grad because the party is held for your children but equally important for underclassman parents to attend as well so they know what to expect for their children’s party when they graduate, in the next few years to come.

We will add you to our distribution list to keep you informed of our planned events.  Our monthly meetings are held the first Wednesday of the month, at 7pm, at the YMCA.  Hope to see you all at our events.
